- Abraham Lincoln

Featured in Justin Thomas’ first book in The Fable Avenue Saga, The Ghost of Gabriel’s Horn, The Son Dial Tone serves as the past life for the Peters family and the three generations of Amat women from Water Bug Hollow, Louisiana.

First composed by Pete Peters, using the mystical notations decoded and taught to him by the Fable brothers and their wives, and played through the magical horn that fell from the sky, the musical composition expressed as poetry, is taken up by Horatio Peters twenty-four years after the death of his father.

Playing the notes composed by his father, Horatio discovers the two past lives lived by his mother and father, witnessing their meeting as Mother Harmony and Father Voice in the middle of a Moorish square, which violently moves into their second life as kidnapped Africans. His father thrown overboard a slave ship, nine months later Horatio sees himself born into slavery as Mojuba Kimoyo. Continuing the song where his father left off, his mind remembering his past life history, Horatio watches as his former self endures the hardships of colonial slavery in America. Coping with his environment by learning ancient African rhythms and spirituality with other enslaved Africans, Horatio as Mojuba Kimoyo trains to lead a rebellion against the plantation masters he serves.
